The pune ganesh festival is one of the most significant cultural events in maharashtra, india. every year, thousands of devotees and tourists from around the world flock to the city to witness the grandeur and magnificence of the festival. in 2019, the festival was especially vibrant, and i had the privilege of capturing some incredible moments of the dhok tasha pathak in action.the dhok tasha pathak is one of the most popular and renowned pathaks in pune. they have been performing during the ganesh festival for over 70 years, and their performances are truly mesmerizing. the pathak comprises of over 100 members, all dressed in traditional attire, and they play the dhok and tasha instruments with great fervor and zeal.i had the opportunity to shoot some fantastic footage of the pathak during one of their performances. the energy and enthusiasm of the performers were palpable, and it was impossible not to get caught up in the moment. i made sure to get some close-up shots of the instruments and the performers' expressions, which helped to bring the video to life.in addition to shooting video footage, i also took some stunning photos of the pathak. the bright colors of their outfits contrasted beautifully against the dark sky, and i was able to capture some incredible moments of the performers in motion. it was an unforgettable experience that i will cherish forever.one of the most challenging aspects of shooting the pathak was capturing the action in low light conditions. the performances take place in the evening, and it can be difficult to get sharp and clear footage without a tripod. however, i was able to overcome this challenge by using a fast lens and a high iso setting on my camera.overall, the experience of capturing the dhok tasha pathak during the 2019 pune ganesh festival was truly unforgettable. the energy and excitement of the performers were contagious, and it was an honor to be able to document their incredible performances. i hope that my video and photos will help to preserve these moments for generations to come.
